Help with Latchwork.

How to play, the modes, Settings and the optional leaderboard. Latchwork is in testing on Android and iPhone.

How do I play?

Two dice set the target. Select touching tiles that add up exactly to the roll, then tap Close. Every tile you close raises its open neighbours by one and becomes a wall, so each move reshapes the board. Bigger groups score more, but leave yourself a path: the run ends when no group can make the roll.

Each run has two hints and one reroll. The How to play screen in the game shows an illustrated example move.

What modes are there?
  • Classic: a fresh 6 × 6 board every run.
  • Classic Large: a roomier 7 × 7 board.
  • Daily: one board a day, the same for everyone. Your first try counts.
  • Relatch: silver latches reopen once when you close beside them; latch them again and they turn gold and stay shut.
What can I change in Settings?

Settings has sound effects, background music and volume, haptics, an optional daily reminder, and the tile, dice and click-sound styles you have unlocked through achievements. The Leaderboard section lets you join, change your display name or delete your online data.

The daily reminder is scheduled on your phone and asks for notification permission when you turn it on. There are no push notifications from a server.

Where are my games saved?

Your games, history, streaks, stats, achievements and settings are stored on your phone only. There is no account and no cloud save, so they do not move between devices or between Android and iPhone. Deleting the app removes them.

How does the leaderboard work?

The leaderboard is optional. Latchwork asks once on first launch and offers it again in Settings. Nothing is sent until you enter a display name (3 to 16 characters) and tap Join. Other players see your display name, score, rank and the replay of your run. Today's Daily replays only open for players who have already played that Daily.

Your first Daily attempt each day is sent, and a Classic, Large or Relatch run only when it beats your previous best. Practice runs are never sent. The privacy policy lists exactly what is sent.

How do I report a name?

Long-press the player's row on the leaderboard to report their name. After three reports from different players, the name shows as “Player” until it is reviewed by hand. There is no chat, messaging or blocking.

How do I delete my online data?

In Settings, Leaderboard, choose Delete my online data. This removes your leaderboard profile, runs and reports in one step; your games on the phone stay. If you no longer have the app or phone, email support. See delete your Latchwork data for the details.

How can I report a problem?

Email the support address on this page with your device model, Android or iOS version, the app version (shown in Settings or in the store listing) and the steps that lead to the problem. A screenshot can help.

Never send passwords, your leaderboard secret or payment details. Latchwork has no passwords or payments, and support will never ask for them.
